Cinema 4D Ice Material
May 18th, 2010 | Posted in Cinema 4D
Hi all.
Something that has always been a problem for me in 3D is Ice. I think I have gotten quite close using procedurals in Cinema 4D.
If anyone would like me to make a tutorial on how I made it, comment below.

I would actually first give it a try myself, but I would love to see your approach as well, no matter what I manage to find out myself, so thanks for asking, and if you get the time, I look forward to seeing such a tutorial!
yes please please
make a tutorial
it’s pretty well done. so, do it!
I like what you did. I would like to see a tutorial. Also, I would like to talk with you about working with you on some projects. Contact me at brownlabmedia@gmail.com
Spectacular ice indeed, congrats!
I’m in process of doing some ice myself. I had this nifty ice shader with hand-painted textures I made years ago but apparently I’ve lost it somewhere. Dont hesitate to make a tutorial, would be fascinating how it is built
hi..
how did you do that??
it’s really nice
do you have a tutorial for it??
Nice material! But I was wondering what size was your original cube? Using the default cube size will not yield this result. Also when I scale the default cube down to 50%, that looks worse. So yes, obviously some material properties will need to be altered, but I think it would be helpful if you could tell what was the original size. Thanks for sharing!
Would love a tutorial about how to pull off this texture. Ice has always stumped me in 3D – always looks really fake.
